The Tastiest Tur-key Recipe

Gobble gobble - it's that time of year!

Ingredients Needed:

  • Turkey
  • 2 tablespoon paprika                      
  • 2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1 cup of orange juice

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 ℉

Step 2: Mix the spices in a small bowl; paprika + onion powder + garlic powder + ginger + any additional spices you would like to flavor your turkey with!

Step 3: Place your roast rack in a large pan.

Step 4: Place the turkey on your roast rack - with the turkey legs on the bottom.

Step 5: Rub the spice mixture all over turkey. Be generous, it's Thanksgiving!

Step 6: Tightly cover the pan and cook in oven for 2 hours.

Step 7: After 2 hours of cooking, take out the turkey and pour orange juice over the whole turkey.

Step 8: Keep the turkey uncovered and place back into the over for the remaining cook time. Remember to baste the turkey periodically! 

Step 9: When turkey is done cooking, carve turkey 1 hour after cooling down!  

 

"Cooking Your Turkey" Times:

For unstuffed turkey:

  • 8 - 12 pounds: 2½ to 3½ hours
  • 12 - 16 pounds: 3½ to 4½ hours
  • 16 - 20 pounds: 4½ to 5 hours
  • 20 - 24 pounds: 5 to 6 hours

For stuffed turkey:

  • 8 - 12 pounds: 3¼ to 4¼ hours
  • 12 - 16 pounds: 4¼ to 5¼ hours
  • 16 - 20 pounds: 4 ¾ to 5 ¾ hours
  • 20 - 24 pounds: 5¼ to 6¾ hours
